Below are all of my drawings so far from my drawing course at SCSU. Most of the works I did in charcoal, but some with pencil and ink.
This is personally my favorite drawing. This still life took plenty of time and practice. Before starting I tried multiple thumbnails to test compositions, shadows, and shapes. I really enjoy using charcoal and is now my favorite medium. Getting the lighting, shadows, and shades were the hardest.
Here are some more charcoal drawings.
This was my first good drawing. Using contour lines to create shape, depth, shade, and texture I drew my shoe. I thought I had no idea how to draw going into my drawing course but after this I felt much more confident with my drawings.
Here even some more charcoal drawings. These where more of practice using contour lines and shading. At first I thought a sphere was going to be simple but after my first try I was dead wrong. For me the box was the easiest.
This is another example of more practice using charcoal and using thumbnails. I used to never think thumbnails would help that much but now they are key for my work. After a few tries I went for the larger drawing and were proud of the results
This was my first ink drawing/painting ever. At least from an ink vial and not just because I was bored in class. I found using a brush and ink vial was very difficult. To make different shades of black using water was easy but I never knew what shade it was going to be until the brush hit the paper.
Here are some pages of my sketch book that drew over the first half of the semester. I sketched when I was watching a movie or siting in the car. I didn't have a theme or a constant style, just me being me.
